Performances

  • 2 Weirdos by Olga Balińska and Chilton Galimo

    13.00 - 13.10 at KennisMakerij

Two humans. In fact, two weirdos. Finding each other in space and making it even more weird. There is randomness. Playfulness. And of course weirdness. Or maybe it's just us being ourselves?

patchworks (in progress) by Lio Jakob

    13.15 - 13.30 at Lamp Sky

sounds stitched together, forming a rhythm

creating a dance from the patchwork of movements

    layers intertwine

    overlap

    in a tapestry of motion

a collage of moments that shapes our existence

    as we keep on adding

    to our patchworks in progress

Óleo, una tarde de alivio by Tesa Aviño

    13.35 - 13.55 at Table on Tracks

Once, my mother had a bad day. I was playing the guitar for her and I normally play sad songs on the guitar. She just cut me off while playing and she told me: Please Teresa, sing something beautiful, something easy, something nice, joyful, dreamy, something that flies, something that makes you fall in love, sing a beautiful song.

My name is Helena, nice to meet you by Helena Alemany Ortiz

    14.00 - 14.15 at StemmingMakerij

I have never considered myself a fearful person.

But I’ve recently realised that there are many things that scare me.

From a research on fragility and empowerment. I would be afraid of not feeling.

I actually just wanted to wear the blue shoes.

Confronting to have it in front of you, without humor everything would be too boring by María Sierra Carrión

    14.20 - 14.25 at Balcony Entrance

my thoughts turned into a solo

Calestrina ladon (you’ve changed, but so have I) by Koen Engelen

    14.30 - 14.45 at StemmingMakerij

Life hits you when you're just doing your thing and also caterpillars eat a lot.

    (No) Cambiaré by Minka Konkol

    14.30 - 14.45 at Balcony Entrance

    Again you find yourself in

this dark room with all your

    nightmares living in

it is so hard to leave this

home for too many years that you try to

    forget and deny, pretend it’s

over or it never even happened, but you

    slide

    slide

back inside it's warm hug you know too

well that gives you comfort but you

forgot that it hangs on to you till you’re

trapped in its sweet arms for what seems like

forever that you try to find a way

    out you can’t get from

here you’ll need to die again.

Trapped in its arms for what seems like forever.

Forever that you try to find a way out.

Out you can’t get from here.

Here you’ll need to die again.

The Odyssey ACT:I by Hayrik Martes

    14.50 - 14.55 at StemmingMakerij

    Recollecting Data 33347/62.2

Am I programmed to move or is it my free will to do so…?

What happens when it takes control of my body…?

    Will I be a puppet forever…?

    NO!

I will… go against it and journey through the unknown…

    I am not a…fraid…

    End message…

ID - ODDS by Minoe Bossink, Loreen Jansen, Sem Hermans, Melissa van Wees, Naomi Stadwijk

    15.00 - 15.25 at Stadsbalkon

Meg til deg by Amisha Kumra

    15.30 - 15.40 at Balcony Entrance

“Meg til deg” means “me to you” in Norwegian and reflects the cross cultures Amisha Kumra has grown up in as an Indian woman with movements from Kathak, contemporary, hiphop, house, popping and waacking. The essence of the piece is to react to the music in the purity of the moment.

el alivio by Katja Butković, Bongjin Jung, André Neto

    15.45 - 15.55 at Stadsbalkon

    Transcendental

    thought that is here

    and disappears

planted with a seed of tragedy

A salty feeling takes over my face

    massaging my sternum

while I stand lost in the translation of my emotions

    Lonely,

    around people,

trying to find a way to reach out

I cover the ‘other’ with a gentle touch

hoping that one day it will fall

    in the trap of hug

    I have no answer,

    just asked questions

    Where are you?

    When will you be here?

Yes, this is she by Cézanne Penders

    16.00 - 16.10 at Table on Tracks

The phone rings. I answer. “Yes, this is she.” Schrödinger’s call. I hang up.

"Yes, this is she." is part of an ongoing research on transitions. It explores the spectrum of human emotions as subtle shifts in muscle tension and context reveal what’s behind the expression. All through the simple act of answering a phone call.

Performance Evening

A mesmerising evening filled with performances that will leave you inspired. The evening will take place in a more conventional closed setting, in the unique Glazenzaal.

Glazenzaal

  • A Flower Petal by Wan-Yun Chen

I bring my floating fan from Taiwan, I play with my floating fan, I see the spring coming, the spring comes from my body. ‘A Flower Petal’ is a research project between me and the floating fan, to see how I can bring the brightness and the joy to you, like the spring!

Maar wat als wij by Emma Thomson & Mariví van den Hooff

This dance duet explores how relationships between individuals can form, change, and fade away. The dancers outline various situations in which encounters and moments of goodbye take place. ‘Maar wat als wij’ prompts to think: how do we relate to each other?

    -15 minutes break

Querencia by Dagmar van Dijk, Helena Perez, and Jürgen Rijkers

On nights like these, I held her in my arms.

I kissed her so many times under the infinite sky.

To hear the immense night, even more immense without her.

And the verse falls over the soul like dew to the pasture.

What does it matter that my love could not keep her.

The night is filled with stars and she is not with me.

That is all. In the distance someone is singing. In the distance.

(for the full poem, see ‘Puedo escribir los versos más tristes’ by Pablo Neruda)

    (Un)familiar by Frann Schollaert

"Not knowing where else to find, who's truly honest and kind.

To this so-called wonderful human being, that's been broken by overseeing."

A solo based on my personal experiences with suicidal thoughts, loneliness and pain.

ForNow by Alberto Serrano, Ana Rosa Manzanera

Inspired by the philosophy of Kintsugi, and the notion that broken pieces are put together, to create a new and yet stronger version of the once-broken structure.

We delve into a choreography that embodies fragility and speaks about identity; celebrates resilience, finds beauty in scars, and emphasizes on the power of union.

Mara, Mara, Mara by Stefan Žarić, Julia Nielsen, Ole Wolf, Chiara Scharler

"The time before, well, there is a lot from then I don't remember"

A retelling of the woman who survived a true nightmare

One picture guides us, her sitting in the cheap sofa, in a call, with her legs up on the table

She loved being on the phone

    But hated when it rang

    Sometimes she still does
