What is Tilburg in Motion?
Tilburg in Motion revolves around the power of coming together, making space for everyone's personal artistry, and celebrating authenticity. By organising this festival, we aim to bring people from in- and outside of Tilburg together through dance, movement, and art. The premise? Dance is for everyone.
The festival is open to anyone curious about dance, regardless of background or experience. To ensure inclusivity regardless of financial means, the entire festival is free of charge. Whatever you're looking for, whether you're familiar with dance or not; it's here. Workshops in various dance styles will be held every day, welcoming participants of all levels and ages.
Additionally, numerous performances will take place during the first two days, both during the day and in the evening. All performances are created by different artists coming together in Tilburg; our pride as a dance city.
Through a co-creative perspective, collective efforts, and broad programming, we strive to foster an inclusive dance culture that nurtures both authenticity and community. Everyone is invited to move, be moved, and discover their personal connection to dance.
The team
Meet the passionate driving force behind Tilburg in Motion: a dedicated team of eleven dance students from Fontys Academy of the Arts. Differing a lot in background, style, and nationality ourselves, we meet each other in our love for dance and our vision to make dance as accessible as possible for anyone.
As we are a group of young artists graduating this year, 2024, we saw a chance to enter the field with something that truly matters to us, and we seized the opportunity to build a future for the community, the city and its artists, but also for ourselves. We all burn for topics like equity, and we believe that creation is treasured in everything and everyone: art belongs to all.
Within the group, we celebrate our uniqueness and individual strength as much as we do throughout the festival. We are an international team with a highly diverse skill set, which serves us in building something that lasts. Through our collective commitment, we're not just organising a festival—we're building upon our vibrant community where creativity thrives. Join us on this exhilarating journey as we move Tilburg forward; together we create the future.
