As part of Tilburg in Motion 2025, we’re curating: 

1. Three performance afternoons (May 1, May 2 and May 3) with pop-up performances spread across LocHal, Tilburg’s extraodinary library. These performances will take place in various locations within LocHal, creating unique and unexpected moments for audiences. Each location offers its own challenges and possibilities. 

2. One performance evening (May 1) with a more traditional stage/theatre-like setup, where the audience will be seated frontal. 

When filling out the application form, you can indicate your preference for either performing during the afternoon pop-up performances or the evening performance. Please note that while we will do our best to honor your preference, we cannot guarantee it.

Performing in LocHal: A Unique Public Space 

LocHal is a public space, which comes with its own set of challenges and opportunities. We’re looking for pieces and artists who are excited about adapting to this environment and engaging with a diverse audience. Performances will unfold in spaces that are lively, dynamic, and surrounded by the daily rhythm of library visitors. 

Because of this, it’s important to ensure that the performances are suitable for a broad audience, including children. Please note: 

• Nudity, violence, or extremely loud sounds/music are strictly not allowed. 

• Performances should be adaptable to the open and informal atmosphere of a public venue. 

1. Performance afternoons (May 1 & 2 & 3): 

• Pop-up performances will happen in different spaces within LocHal. 

• There are limited technical possibilities, and natural daylight will be the primary lighting (no special lighting available). 

• The floors are concrete, and no additional dance floor will be installed. 

• A speaker will be provided for music. 

1. Performance evening

   (May 1): 

• A stage/theater-like setup with a frontal audience. 

• While this setting offers slightly more of a performance-focused atmosphere, please note that technical possibilities will still be limited.

While we regret that we cannot offer payment, travel support, or accommodation at this time, we want to ensure your work is recognized and supported in the following ways: 

• Promotion: We will feature your work on our website and social media platforms.

• Performance Opportunity: Selected artists will have the chance to present their work at LocHal, a vibrant and inspiring venue known for its dynamic architecture and cultural relevance. 

• Networking & Exchange: The festival provides a strong platform for connection, fostering meaningful exchanges between artists, audiences, and creative professionals from diverse backgrounds. 

What We Offer 

• The open call closes on February 28, 2025, at 10:00 PM (CET). 

• You will hear back from us about whether your piece has been selected by March 7, 2025.
